Project Background
Higher education and research institutions and universities hold an important role in society development and contribute to economic growth. International partnerships and cooperation contribute significantly to globalization, exchange of knowledge and know-how and overall development. Joint approaches with Asian institutions will strengthen EU-Asia relationship and development cooperation activities.
Education, especially engineering education is the key factor for development of Afghan society and initiating the progress in all sectors. After years of society subjection and failure of education system, human resources development in Afghanistan is one of the basic needs and priorities of the Afghan government.
This project, implemented in cooperation with several partner institutions from Europe and Asia and in full concordance with Asia-Link Program objectives and Afghan Public Investment Programme, is focusing on improving engineering education system on two selected Afghan universities. Main target groups are university staff and top student talents in technical areas as developing Afghan society calls for domestic experts and professionals.
